This is all almost more than a person can take. I'm like tripping on people and names and memories. Yes: The Carole with the White pickup, and Harold ... and Jeanie (hell both Jeanie of the stripped shirts and Jean Obscene). ... And Rocky the dog. And Spike. Dave Vacant and Denz. And Celia resueing me when I took a bottle of NoDoz and throw up on the pillows of Grant Street. Vivian and Elliot ... (now who the fuck and what where doing and up tom and where did they gone) ... chains and whips and chettah prints. And Joel Fox in his Landshark black primer and all -- fuckin ripped out household wood speaker back seat wires blasting Iggy or Buzzcocks. And heck ... Juliet will remember Moe and Rockabilly Steve (c. 81), and "College Erik" with god damn best spiky hair in the World (made Chris Douglas and Billy Idol’s look chunky and overdone) ... and Dena !! Ha. Her totally rad 1980 Fucking intense Adam Ant Addict Huntington Beach Hard Core chains and feathers and braids.

... And Jimmie and Leslie (visions of her in 1980 running diagonally across Durant toward Tower wearing and othersized men's suit jacket, impossibly skinny jeans and high high black stiletto heals in the misty rain). And Lisa and Alyssa Welsh. Getting put in squad car and taken away in front of all my friends with packs of hairdye down my pants from Rex all drugs w/ superior Frat boys laughing ' ho ho ho. And Gary Nervo ... and Marc Time. Louie, Jim Jim, and Bruno, ... Suzanne Onodera and Rob (yes no matter how you slice it that fact that he yelled in the face of strangers was great !). And Ken Friedman free concerts (DNA, Ramones, Flipper, Plastics). Running from cops thru the back basement door of whatever the hell that pub under Silverball and out onto the backstreet. And Julie L. with her priceless attitude and look. And my selling acid to Motley Crue on Durant a couple years later … set up by none other than Ron buddy at Universal. Sean (mod) and Richard from England (wheeler and dealer?). And speaking of Ron … how about the other Ron (as in Ron, Victor, Hester) … and dear Johnny and his skeletal black leather and skateboard (long before the facial hair scraggles) and Sammy and his endless ability to talk his way into bed … and my dear best friend from 2 grade, 5th grade, Junior High, and beyond … with whom I discovered the Ramones and DEVO and Pistols together and sat up all night drinking Rondo and listening to vinyl = T.C. (Turner) ... Brad, and Steve and tatoo Dan. And all the lovely girls. Interesting, smart, beautiful gals … ruthless … hard … sweet. Yes … the place ticked and tocked and rocked and had a feeling and artisty and meaning -- post Hippie but pre (fill-in-with-lameness) 90s world, or 2000s world. Great memories : EBSCUM, DMR, SILVERBALL, THE RENAISANCE CAFE, DIRTY RAINBOW, ORANGE JULIUS, MUSIC FAUCET, ODYSSEY, a pocket full of Bandanas stolen with Sean Condon and Julie and Matt from MILLER'S OUTPOST …

Any of this make sense?

fuck yeah. i never imagined i would look back on those times with fondness, but in retrospect, even with all the confusion and pain, they made more fucking sense than anything does now. or maybe that's the rose colored glasses talking. [i had some AWESOME rose colored glasses from the ashby flea market by the way...........]

Can't believe I stared ya straight in the face and froze on the name, Peter, how embarrassing was that!?. The Ruthies Inn/ Wes Robinson memorial show at NIMBY was like having a thousand 25 year old blackouts suddenly brought to light and I was a bit shellshocked by the time we bumped into each other. Forgive me :)

I got some bandanas for ya if it will make ya happy

sean, you rascal! i can't remember if i saw you at ruthie's but then again, i was running around like a maniac -- dave dictor's girlfiend evil-eying me cuz someone ate all the vegan food and she was hungry; cretin threatening to bail cuz he wanted to play next; wes getting all the interviews mixed up and losing the counter; nimby’s and marc aley ripping us off; pat tidd doing a stage dive during verbal abuse, complete with a boot in the head of east bay rats security; fang playing at 4:30 in the morning, ugh, but at least the fighting robots, the skateboard ramp and of course a reunion for all of us who hadn’t seen each other in years made it all worthwhile, especially since wes passed away a few months later. our parents even stopped by to check things out.

btw, if you have pictures from ruthie’s, i need them for the archive, as i was too busy putting out fires to take any. please email to royce.rachel@gmail.com

also an update on sandy, spike’s rottweiler: she was placed in her new permanent home in stockton last week while caesar, her german shepherd and a cat killer now share’s his water bowl with our cat and guards the horses at the barn, very well I might add.
